FCT Combustion is pleased to announce a formal alliance with the Enelco Environmental Technology Co., Ltd (EETC).
FCT is the worldwide leading supplier of combustion system for iron ore, cement, lime and minerals industries.
EETC is a leading supplier of air pollution control equipment systems for the utilities, pulp and paper, steel and related industries.
FCT and EETC are joining forces to support the Chinese steel, cement, glass and other industries with innovative combustion equipment solutions to ensure production safety, conserve energy and control emissions.
EETC is the exclusive representative of FCT Combustion in China. EETC extensive capabilities, and resources shall be shared with FCT to service our valued Chinese customers.
The joint office is based in Nanjing, with an additional workshop based in Bengbu. From these facilities, FCT and EETC are forming teams to offer local technical support, engineering, and procurement capabilities to our valued customer base within China.
Michael Zhu, President of EETC, will become FCT’s China CEO and believes the alliance demonstrates a shared commitment to support the local market.

Adriano Greco, FCT Group CEO, believes the new office will improve the customer experience.

The office based in Nanjing, China will join FCT’s existing network of international offices, which are located in the USA, Brazil, Austria, and Australia.

FCT ENTERS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP WITH METAL7 TO PROVIDE ENHANCED PRODUCT AND SERVICE CAPABILITIES TO IRON ORE PELLETIZING CUSTOMERS IN BRAZIL.
FCT Combustion (FCT) and Metal7 (M7) are pleased to announce the execution of a Distribution Agreement to provide enhanced product and service capabilities to valued customers within the Brazilian region.
FCT will now supply a range of M7 iron ore pelletizing solutions, including green pellets screening, material handling, and slurry filtering, in addition to FCT’s existing portfolio of burner and fuel handling technologies.
FCT has a strong local presence in Brazil and is the world-leading supplier of burners to iron ore pelletizing plants with specialized and proven technologies for both straight grate and grate-kiln application.

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will provide enhanced product and sales capabilities to customers in Brazil. FCT is well incorporated into the Brazilian market and will use its presence to further develop M7’s market share. The combination of M7’s solutions with FCT’s local presence will provide customers with complete end-to-end project development from conceptual design through to operational commissioning and after-sales support, including the supply of spare parts.

FCT Combustion, the world leading supplier of Burning Systems for Iron Ore Pellet Plants, is pleased to announce that Rodrigo Elisei has accepted the position of Global Business Development Executive for Iron and Steel.
Rodrigo will oversee global market development and will be based in FCT’s European Office to easily support all time zones from the Americas to Australia, including Africa, Europe and Asia.
A high-performing operations-management executive with 20 years of experience in the industry, Rodrigo most recently held the position of Executive Manager at Vale. Having graduated from the renowned Federal University of Ouro Petro in Brazil, Rodrigo also holds an Executive International Master of Business Administration.
During his time with Vale, Rodrigo worked in several positions at all pellet plants of the Brazilian conglomerate. Rodrigo began his career in the Vale Pellet Plants in Vitoria (8 plants), ascending to the position of COO of Vale’s Oman pellet plant. More recently, Rodrigo was tasked with the revitalization, re-build and re-start of operations at the Sao Luis plant after a years-long stoppage, before being appointed as Executive Manager of the 3 pellet plants; 2 in Minas Gerais State and 1 in Sao Luis, Maranhao State, with a combined 18 million ton per annum output.

FCT Combustion is pleased to announce our involvement with the Low Emissions Intensity Lime and Cement (LEILAC) research project, part of the European Union’s Horizon 2020.
The first iteration of the project, LEILAC-1, verified that Direct Separation, a new type of carbon capture technology, could be applied to the cement and lime industries to efficiently capture unavoidable emissions from the processing of limestone, which is made up of 50% by weight CO2 and accounts for more than 60% of total CO2 emitted from lime and cement processing.
Following the success of the LEILAC-1 pilot, capturing 5% of the total process emissions, LEILAC-2 now aims to improve on this by constructing a Demonstration Plant on a fully operational HeidelbergCement plant in Germany, representing a 4 x scale up from LEILAC-1, capturing around 20% of the full-scale plant’s process emissions.
FCT Combustion is contributing technical expertise to the design of the combustion system, and its ability to use solid alternative fuels. FCT will contribute extensive modelling and design expertise for the design of the furnace, burners and combustion system, with the aim of safely, reliably and efficiently transferring energy to the Direct Separation Reactor at the core of the technology.
Direct Separation re-engineers the existing process flows of a traditional calciner by indirectly heating the material being processed via a special steel vessel. The unique system enables pure CO2 to be captured as it is released during the calcination of limestone (CaCO3) to lime (CaO), as the furnace exhaust gases are kept separate. As the CO2 is not mixed with any other gas in the process, it is able to be easily stored or recycled as an inexpensive and simple fuel source.
LEILAC-2 commenced in April 2020 and is scheduled to run until the end of March 2025. A unique consortium of partners has come together to create this ground-breaking carbon capture technology.
The LEILAC-2 consortium is led by Calix and includes a number of industrial partners (HeidelbergCement, Lhoist, CIMPOR) along with other key organisations and research institutes. For more information, please visit www.project-leilac.eu
