Design and consulting in combustion and/or process matters are major activities of FCT-Combustion. Our experienced engineers provide services in;
- Feasibility studies, such as plant upgrades, fuel changes, direct to indirect firing, waste fuels usage
- Environmental studies, such as gaseous emissions reduction or odour incineration (CO, NOx, SOx, VOCs, dust, CO2)
- Problem solving, such as refractory failure, poor combustion, poor product quality, kiln rings, kiln instability
- Design of combustion vessels and afterburners
- Design of plant control and safety systems where combustion is involved
- Evaluation and design upgrade of coal firing systems
- Safety audit, system design and recommendations
- Explosion and fire risk assessments and accident investigations and reports
- Training of operators and engineers and combustion and process course presentation
- Site services, including temporary assistance with plant operations, site data collection, forming part of works engineering team, site investigations
- Benchmarking and pro-active search for improvements
- Design review and optimisation for new and existing plant
- Re-design of poorly performing burner systems
- R&D in specialised cases
One of our strengths is that FCT staff are experienced industry engineers with extensive backgrounds in plant design, operation and maintenance. This collective experience is available to our clients in the implementation of projects.
Our strong linkages with research and technical partners such as Adelaide University and CSIRO allow us to maintain a leading edge technical platform in the delivery of our goods and services.
